Welcome back to Awakened Exchanges! I’m your host Jay Rich and this is our second holiday episode of 2020! This whole month I’m focusing on fun things that bring me, and hopefully you, joy. Our first episode was with Nick Hinton, and we had quite the fun conspiratorial talk. I took a bit of a swing in passions for this week, and went to Fantasy Sports. I’ve been a fan of them since I first saw them emerge during my freshman year of college, which if you must know was the 99-00 school year. Basketball was always my sport, but I admit that Fantasy Football can be a lot easier to manage with limited time. This week’s guest will give us a look at the life of a professional Fantasy Sports Analyst. I’m still trying to lock in the last few guests for this month, but if everything goes as planned, we should still have a very special Christmas Eve episode! Stay tuned for more info!

I spent all of last month doing my best to be grateful for everything that presented itself in my life. It seems like that should be an easy thing to do, but it’s even easier to get bogged down in the everyday drudgery, especially as we endure more lockdowns and socially distanced holidays. I’ve been battling to keep the guests I already have scheduled as well as trying to build our audience and expand our reach. Not surprisingly, the holidays haven’t made it any easier to lock in guests, especially as everyone’s schedule gets more and more crowded. I’m continuing to do my best to assure that we don’t go quiet and to keep this podcast keeps building its momentum instead of sliding back, but this is where I need your help. We’ve gotten nothing but positive reviews, but there’s just not as many of them as our downloads would have you believe. I want to hear back from you, yes you specifically, and find out what we can do to help you spread the word? Do you know of a guest that you’d like to hear and would like to put us in touch with? Do you want some stickers to share with friends? What would get you more invested and excited to hear from us each week? I am doing this for the audience and your excitement is contagious. I want to hear from you so together we can build this into a show that you’re as excited to see in your feed come Thursday morning as I am to put it out there for you. We’re in this world together, and I hope that we can use this feedback loop as a way to amplify our creative energies and make this podcast, if not the world, a little more fun and accessible. I hope you’re all even a fraction as grateful to be listening as I am to have you here. Let’s accentuate the positive and remember to be grateful everyday.

I’m most definitely grateful for this week’s guest, Andrew Wiggins. He’s probably most known for his work on Establish the Run, the year-round, highest quality fantasy sports analysis. He took the time away from his schedule to visit with us and give an honest and open look into his life, as well as a look inside an industry that many of us have had fantasies about dominating. He talks a lot about recognizing our luck and remembering to be grateful for the wins as well as the losses, as we roll with the punches thrown through life. Andrew was a pleasure to speak with and he seems like a genuinely gregarious individual; I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
